Jeff Horner (born August 1, 1983, in Mason City, Iowa) is best known as the point guard for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes Basketball team. Jeff currently holds the University of Iowa career three point record at 232 shots made. Horner was born in Mason City, Iowa where he excelled at a young age. His father Bob Horner was Mason City High School varsity Basketball coach. Horner is sometimes considered the best player to ever play at Mason City High School. Horner was the youngest person to make a verbal commitment to the University of Iowa. The previous holder of that record was Dean Oliver, another basketball standout from Mason City High School. Horner played Professional Basketball with the Euphony Bree, a team located in Bree, Belgium. He played for Paris Basket Racing in France until 2007. He was signed by the Iowa Energy, an NBA Development League team based out of Des Moines, Iowa, in October 2007. Horner is currently a volunteer coaching at West Des Moines Valley High School and Grandview College, both in the Des Moines Area. Horner's sister Kristin played basketball for Drake University.
